Ive got a FlowMaster 80 series on my 97,same car(96-98's are all the same) It all depends on what kind of sound your wanting. You want a quiet sound you might want to go with a delta flow series muffler from FlowMaster. The Delta's usually run quieter then the regular series. You want a louder tone go with a 40 series or 80,like mine, the 80 is a little bit quieter(Ive got a 4cyl so take that into consideration)

I would recommend something steel/glass packed. This will avoid the rough raspyness you'll get with a flowmaster. For quality, sound, and straight-thru flow I'd recommend Borla. Dynomax is of similar design and sound... and at $30~35 a piece certainly easy on the wallet.

dont go with the 80.....u have an SE....the 80 series is a dual outlet muffler... u would have the cut ur bumper to make room for the other exit... 40 series is the same thing as the 80...jus single outlet

I used to have Flowmaster 40 series on my 95 w/ the 3100. Sounded awesome...however, they rusted out VERY quickly. A few weeks ago I had some stainless steel Magnaflows put on, I like the sound of them better. A little bit quieter than my Flowmasters, and will hopefully last longer!

Let us know how they sound. My gf's Cavalier has the 2.4L, often wondered what a Flowmaster would sound like on it!

I love the new exhaust! It not a ricer sound but yet its not a camero! I really like the sound! I am extremely happy, I was a little scared at first, but as soon as i turned the key I was happy! Some people don't like the raspyness of the flowmaster, but I do! So i guess its what you like

Didn't realize you're from Topeka! I just west of you in Manhattan (for school). My hometown is Great Bend, KS. Should try to get some area GA owners together sometime
