If by adding more wattage, such as a couple amps, to my stereo system will I be causing more corrosion to my battery? Or will it appear more quickly?

i doubt it, but i suggest upgrading the battery just because you have two amps, either a optima red top or exide orbital if the battery is your starting battery, don't believe ppl when they say put a yellow top under the hood as your main battery, they're not made for starting

alright, thanks for the advice. About how many Cold Cranking Amps do you recommend for my car? It's only got power doors, no power windows, no cruise control, pretty basic. All the power I'll be using is my stereo.

I can vouche for the redtop. Best battery I've ever seen myself. My car cranks faster than it ever did, even in these cold nasty northeastern winters.

Cold Cranking Amps isn't a measurment for using accessories, it's the rating for starting you car when it's . . . *drum roll please*. . .COLD! I put a 750 in my car, but it wasn't an optima. I'm not sure what they come in, but i'd say as long as you have something 650+ CCA you should be fine.
