All right I know a little bit about amps and how they work but something weird happened yesterday when I was hooking up my amp. I have a bolt 900 watt amp and I had the remote and power and ground hooked up and the power light comes on but I get no sound through my cd player it worked for a sec but then it stopped I tryed a different set of rca jacks and it still didnt work I just wondered about opinions and I know the amp works its brand new! any opinions would be greatly helpful! thanks in advance

Make sure you have a good.. tight ground!!!
If not, you could have cooked the amp by accident.
Then.. if you have an aftermarket HU.. check to make sure that it does or doesn't have a "sub" switch. It is a function on mine that turns to off when I unhook the battery. Everything still "works" but no sound will come through my subs. Set it to on and you should be good to go!

rca's might have messed up in the headunit. it does happen. try your amp on another stereo or take it to a stereo shop and ask them if they can hook it up and see if everything works on it.
