yea audison is WAY better quality than RF. now do you see why im not an RF fan? other good brand amps are zapco (also incredible sounding), old Xtant (not their newer stuff), old PPI (also new stuff sucks) and brax (almost unreachable, price wise).

It's sad how cheapened R.F. has become. They used to be the spare nothing be all/ end all of car audio. Now they have stooped to makeing "Fast & furious" lines of equipment.:roll2: That's Why I have my good ole punch 150's, etc. I won't buy anyting R.F. unless it's a good 5 yrs. old or older.

i've heard zapco and liked them, but the prices i got on audison are great
i've decided also to drop my 501bd's and go with a crossfire 1000D too
so soon for sale i'll have: 2 501bd's, 1 551x, and 1 T162S component system

501bd,... definately NOT the good old school Rockford endurance & quality I grew to love back in the late 80's/ early 90's. It's all mass produced run of the mill stuff now. I don't blame you for going to other brands if you want something new. But the oldschool R.F. still stands up good n' proud yet today.
Question. since i know you're into audio... What do you think of the plastic & aluminum cones now adays? I still think the old paper & spruce pulp R.F. used to use sounds better. Maybe it's just me but that's why I stick to the older speaker & subs. I do, however think the tweeter technology has gotten better.

the tweets got better cuz they contracted out to MB quart for highs and mids
the subs are still great, and the 03 amps are good, the new power t series amps are good for spl comp, but thats it
the 03 line up definently was the best line they had in about 5 years though, but they changed everything in 04
you guys have any inputs about the crossfire 1000d?
