I'm getting a headache.... I dont even comprehend the purpose of putting that much money, time, and effort into a 1992 GA. 13 year old car... first year for that bodystyle, plagued with issues.. You should just finance a new/newer car.. If you like GA's an wanna make a show one, okay, try getting like.. a 2000GT or.. ya know, somethin else newer

Hey Jay, you do this up on carsponsors.com too. I get a lot of people asking me to erase the triple + posts about the same topic. If you could dig up your own old one and make a new comment, that would be great.

No Aluminum Wing
17" go with TSW they make a good wheel
http://www.importinnovation.com/ makes body kits, check there
you will have to custom make projectors for a 92' I think
The M3/Z3 mirrors are universal
Side graphics can be bought anywhere. I thought you were "sponsored" by www.Decalkits.com ? I am and I could have sworn you said you were...

ok #1. the red grand am w/ the flames on the side of it is bogeystar's old GA, and im sure u dont know him so u have some copy right issues to deal with

#2. I have been nice to you for the simple fact that you are the one that got len and susana to open the boards to the public because of the way everyone at GAGT.com was treating you and they felt bad, and i was asked to not be mean. Well this isnt AED's site so i am going to say a few things now

#3. Over the last year and a half - 2 years you have been on EVERY GA site possible asking the same questions. In that same amount of time i have built an entire show car on my own (minus paint) from ordering parts that fit, to getting parts for other cars and making them fit. You need to do the following:

a) stop harassing EVERYONE w/ AIM about the same stuff
b) stop harassing EVERYONE on EVERY GA site about the same stuff... matter of fact... it goes for EVERY car site your on...i remember you being on a michigan site where u were laughed off
c) grow a pair and do something for yourself. Im not saying you have to be like mcguyver and make your own head and tail lights, but for christ's sake go to www.google.com and type in 1992 grand am and see what comes up. And for the sake of agruement.... why are you STILL wasting your time on this car? It is terrible. i dont like being mean, but seriously, i think if enough people talk shit about your car, hopefully you will get rid of it and start over. Its way too old/bent out of shape/not worth what you are trying to invest into it. Like stated above, save your money and go get something newer or that has more parts available for it.

#4. You should NEVER have an aloominum wing on your car. NO GA should. Im pushing w/ the AED wing as it is (so is anyone w/ an aed wing for that matter...lol) but aloominum is just plain rice.

OMG looking at your site makes baby jesus want to cry....seriously.. you have an 8th grader on your "team" and the best car is the contour with the runner up being a 94 probe w/ some rims.... LOOK AT HIS CAR and say to yourself "what can i do to my car that is similar to some of the stuff he's done"...

oh he got an aftermarket lip kit...hmm

he shaved everything... thats a body shop's doing

under hood colored hosing...ANY parts store/speed shop

tint - again, any speed shop or stereo shop

oh he's got a new exhaust

www.flowmaster.com
www.borla.com
www.pacesetter.com
www . ANY COMPANY THAT MAKES MUFFLERS.com

oh he's got his car lowered

www.intrax.com

i see he has audio equipment

well

www.streetglow.com
www.streetforceleds.com

in the last 20 minutes i have just pimped your car. Now, sit down in front of your computer, do some searching, and SHUT THE **** UP!!!

can i get a OWNED???

ps... or you can buy my car for the low introductory price of 16,500

First of all there are perks to modding an older car, I think mine has 115k on it. NO PAYMENTS being the biggest and low insurance second. So dont bash him for modding a 92, I've seen older cars with mods. As long its in good shape and you take care of it, it should be fine. But having another car to drive wouldnt hurt, hopefully this summer or fall I can pick one up, then I'd be willing to do more with this car.

There are plenty of things you can do that are universal man, do your system right with a nice trunk. Make your interior nice. Have some hood scoops MOLDED on. Get some wheels, wheelmax has some great deals at times. I got mine on ebay, 400 bucks brand new.

And remember, google, the 4 grand am sites and ebay are your friends as long as you dont wear out your welcome.

You know what... as much as I'd like to flame you for attempting yet another round of the same questions... I'd admire your persistence.

See, this is the root of your problem. Admit it or not... you want to mod your car so that others will give you props/respect/popularity/etc. That's not the right reason to mod your car, or do anything in life for that matter. Ok, so even if you still are getting into this for the wrong reason... I'll proceed...

You know what impresses most people? The work that goes into a car. You know what doesn't impress people? So called 'mods' you can buy at a parts store.

Let's say there was a magical website that sold every possible accessory possible for your car. Ok, great... so now you spent minimal time installing stuff and have dime-a-dozen mods just like every other __(insert random popular import car here)__ on the road. It might be "eye catching" but nobody cares 2 minutes later, and the real car modders out there are probably laughing at them.

Obviously you should have a clue by now that truckloads of accessories made just for your 92 Grand Am aren't hiding on some magical site hidden in a dark corner on the internet. But you still want to do something with your car. Why not read about bodywork, or fiberglassing, etc? Those are skills you can learn on your own, buy raw supplies cheap and put some time/practice into. Personally, I would be most impressed if you sanded down your car, fixed up all the dents and dings from over the years, and had a reputable shop spray some fresh paint on it. Hell, learn some basic auto graphics... a 2-tone flame job is incredibly easy to mask off for a shop to paint. Or any other mod that shows how much work you put into it.

Now I don't clown on other's rigs or their tastes, but you can expect to be made fun of for that aluminum wing. It's not only tasteless and horrible looking, but shows you didn't spend much effort at all on your car.

I'm also with TJ on this. Some choose brand new, some choose old. I say work with what you have. I could have easily given up now that I have 140K on the 95's clock... but then I wouldn't have a one-of-a-kind car at this point.

I agree with TJ and Matt, you work with what you have. I am in the same pool with not the guy above, but the 92-95 versions. I know the car is old, however, with 70k and in great condition why not perform mods on it!!!

Old Guy, are you the owner of that store lol, because I want a lot from you.

ui4life, check out cardomain.com if you want ideas, but don't stalk them.

You guys probably remember the Russian car, he invested a lot of money into the 96-98 version. What he did would be different then any other 96-98 version and for it being an old car, it looks great, but the spoiler looks like a whale tail.

http://www.robry.org/imagez/cars/dynapak/

Does he get attention? Yes. Do people respect him? No. Does he get laughed at? Always. Yes, you can blow lots of money on building an older 92 GA into a 'show' car. Do I or most anyone on here think its worth it? No probably not. My suggestion is like the others, buy a newer car and start with that.

But since you won't listen anyways,

I would definitely skip on any kind of wing. Does your 92 have a spolier? If not, find a 92 with one in a junk yard and get it molded on at a body shop. Same cost as a Aluminum spolier, but doesn't look retarded. Wheels? Pick some nice 16 or 17's for the car. I'm sure Springtech makes lowering springs. As far as finding other parts? Go on google and ebay, like everyone has said. Just remember. If you spend money on cheap 'ricey' parts, you're car is going to look like that hundai and everyone will laugh. If thats the attention you want, feel free.

Oh, I just read the post where you said you bought a spolier. HAHA.

As far as opening your trunk with a spolier, if its really tall, you won't be able too open it the entire way, or at all.

Sweet98GA
03-16-2005, 02:45 PM
actually, with aloominum wings you have to re-enforce the trunk lid w/ steel so they stay bolted on which causes the trunk to be a lot heavier so you cant open it until you upgrade the johnson rods that are next to the hinge pieces

FlatlineGA
03-16-2005, 02:50 PM
those run like 80 bucks don't they gus? that's why a lot of people just go with fiberglass, not nearly as much work

Sweet98GA
03-16-2005, 02:52 PM
yeah what sux is that they are 80 bucks each, and since the trunks are made in canada, the only place ive found them at is in canada so ure talking about paying for international shipping, and having the package stopped at the border for inspection before it enters the country. It could be 2 weeks before u see them if u order them

That's exactly what I'm getting at. Even if I don't care for the styling, I respect how much work he put into it. That's alot of labor, and the outcome is very unique.

And actually, it's a 92-95. (de-ribbed, with the export tail lights) Look closely at the headlamps. :)

Those are the kinds of questions that should be asked before making a purchase... research what you are getting into and make you purchasing decisions based on that.

I think "will XX part fit? how much modding to make it fit?" semi-intelligent type questions would be much more welcome on forums than "what should I get?" ....well, at least until you mention something like an aluminum wing. :nono: I give up.

ManktheTank19
03-16-2005, 07:04 PM
Those wings are terrible and cheap. Anybody can pick up an aluminum wing from pepboys. You need to start measuring and picturing other spoilers on your car. I placed a custom spoiler on my 95 ga. I mean not much has been done, but i am working on a few mods.

Here, but i think it is to late:

I agree. The age of the car isn't the problem/ I mean shoot look how many '30s adn 40's cars are modified. And I never once heard anyone bad mouthing me for having a 3" exhaust on a '84 Buick with a V6. (well I did a couple of times but those children saw nothing but tail lights in the end. lol) Right now I'm looking to sell my Xtreme so I can purchase a (ack) older one for the same reasons you mentioned. My $200+ a month payments could be put into all the new metal work, etc.

I agree.
Any clown can open up SuperStreet to a ad, call up a company or pull up a website and order random parts to 'bolt' on to their car. Typical bolt on goodies will not get you noticed in a car show. But innovation, and customization will.

Do yourself a favor. Set one goal at a time and complete it before moving on.

Example.
Body work. Striaghten the body out, get your 'body kit', or 'wing', shave whatever your going to shave and get it all done and then have it painted.
Phase one- DONE

Once it's completed move to something else, like maybe your engine or interior. Complete that and then move on... do this until your vehicle is complete.

Stop doing little half arse'd things here and there.

And for gods sake stop asking the same thing over and over and over.

If I have to read the same question from you more than once I'm going to give you points for my aggravation, so consider this a warning. Just like last time you were here I have already had to merge threads of yours asking the same question just phrased slightly different. People get annoyed answering the same thing over an over again. They also get annoyed when they answer someone but the person didn't absorb said information shared. And other people get annoying having to be a babysitter to make sure that there aren't 10 simular posts from the same user, and that people aren't flaing said user for doing so.

I hope you read that carefully because I don't feel like retyping it in a day or so.
