So today I'm driving home from work and I feel my breakes give for a fraction of a second. It spookes me for a second and I think nothing more of it. Two minutes later the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on. Well needless to say with a car that I have just recently purchased, with less then 26,000 miles on it and less then 2 years old, I'm not happy to see that. I get home and plug my code reader into the port and I get one triped code, and one pending code. They turned out to be the same code, which was "EAVP Emmission Control Malfunction."

What the hell does that mean, and how do I fix it?

1 word...Warranty :D

Take it back to GM and get them to fix whatever it is.

Yeah I know, but I have never had good luck with any mechanics, even ones from dealerships. Plus I would feel better if I knew exactly what needed to be fixed so I can make sure they actually fix it.

Take it to the dealership, if you have any problems or concerns do what i did. I contacted gmgoodwrench service plus people, told them bout my problem. and they followed up with the dealership on my car, and the people there were bending over backwards to help me out. Problem solved. Just go above there heads, and they know your serious. The Gm mechanics know the vehicle better than any other mechanic. Its just gettting them motivated to do the job right.

Thanks for your replies everyone. When the light first came on the gas cap was the first thing I thought of, however as my hour long drive went on I got more pissed (yesterday was just a bad day all around) and by the time I got home I totally forgot about the gas cap. You guys we're right, sure enough the cap had come loose. Tightened it up last night and cleared the codes, and had no problems on my drive into work this morning. Thanks for you help guys!

Rad_Pander thanks for the info. I'll be sure to do that when I take my GA in to get the blower motor resistor fixed.
