Door pillar

My door pillar, the glossy vercal plastic piece on outside of the door is chipping off. Does anyone know if it comes off easily?

i know on mine the one ON the door doesnt come off, but the back one does (its on w/ 2 screws and some double sided tape.)... if its chipping i say just tape it off and re-paint it
