I went down to the scrap yard today.
To my suprise there was a 90 G.A siting down there with
the G.M o.e.m 3 star 16 inch rims and almost brand new low pro rubber still on them. "I was like .. sweet, there mine". I soon discoverd why they were still there. Dam lock nuts.
So I riped the car apart looking for the key to get them off with no results. Man I was Pissed.
I then went to the parts store and they suggested this key that you smash over the lock nut and then simply unscrew them.
I figured it was 2 good to be true but I bought it any ways and went back down to the yard.
Sure enough with in 2 min I had all 4 lock nuts off and the tires and rims were mine
The rubber alone should have cost me $600
I scored the rims and the rubber for $80 Cdn
The lesson for the day? If you buy those lock nuts to protect those $2000 rims you worked so hard for... it is a false sense of security and will not protect you or those rims.
