so, with a new GM car you get the free year of OnStar (safe & sound)

what exactly does this let you do and not do? i imagine that there's things that they charge a small price for, but they let you do them w/o any warning.. sort of like with a cell phone. it would be nice if no matter what you can fiddle with it and not worry about accidentally incurring a small fee.

also, what is the deal with the personal calling? i know it's probably a rip off to use it when you already have a cell phone.. but is there perhaps someway to recieve calls? for instance, with most cell phone services you can recieve as many SMS's as you want for free, but sending them is what costs.

I know they can unlock your doors if you lock your keys in. They also call 911 if the airbags deploy. You can get directions if you lost I think. Get a tow truck. stuff like that.

yeah, i knew about that stuff. i was mainly interested in specific things this package level can't do / doesn't include for free :)

I believe you can do whatever you want, however you probably only get a certain number of them per month before they charge you for each use.
