View Full Version : how to get teanny off !!!!??????

ive been trying to get the tranny of my 97 grand am gt 2.4 5 speed an it just wont come off.... all the bolts holding it on are off... i think an it pulls some of the way off then just stops and wont come off ne more. im jus pulling part of the tranny an leaving the clutch an everything on if thats even possible...... well ne help with this is much needed thanks..

are you hitting the frame? I had to lower the engine quite a bit to get mine in.

no its like somthing from inside the tranny case is holding it together.... like theres a shaft or somthing. i dont have the manual an i dont really want to have to go buy one an i was jus wondering if ne one had ne problem like that also. we unbolted part of the frame an took off the a-arm an it has no clearance problems.... jus somthing that i might be missing or i really dont kno wut else....
