Ok, i just purchased a 1999 Grand Am Se for 3000, it has 85000 miles on it, and the body is in great shape, one minor scrathch on bumber).

(was that a good deal?)

Today i changed the oil, and a fog light was blew out (fixed now).

Filled it up with gas, and was driving home.

One thing i noticed:

an ABS Signal keeps popping up while i'm driving, i read the manual and teh manual says to stop turn off vehicle and turn it back on so that that ABS can reset itself. It works just fine when the car off, and turn it back on.

**** any Ideas on how i can avoid stopping the car?

Also what else should i fdo to the car? Like plugs, Timing belt (or is it to early for that) (do i have a belt or chain?) Hoses? anything advice would work guys... i will post pics of it when it's washed... lol right now it's snowing in NYC... lol

Any advice would help out really.....

put ac delco plugs in it and plug wires Bosch plug wires, new wiper blades if yours are bad, changing belts are always good but i forget when your spose to change them. thats about all i can think of for now.

Your car does not have a timing belt, so no worries there. :) May not be a bad idea to look at the serpentine belt though.

if it's a 2.4 you don't have wires, just boots. AC Delco platinum plugs, the fuel filter, air filter, maybe time for radiator flush/fill, belts and hoses are cheap insurance, and learn to do brakes. welcome and good luck with your new car.
