Alright, I'm putting the infamous "Ram Air" on my Ecotec this weekend, weather permitting. Now, here is my question..... The stock air intake system comes up from under the battery and into the airbox, right? Has anyone tried to swap the positions of the airbox + battery for better air flow for our engines?

Swapping those would make sense, since the air wouldn't be traveling as far and with less bends. Here are my main concerns:
- Stock Battery Cables... long enough for a move?
- Battery Tray.... can it be mounted in the airbox location safely?
- Windsheild Washer Fluid tank... I hope the pump isn't there as well.

This should all turn out to be very interesting....

That's the biggest problem w/ the "Ram Air" that extra snorkel in the wheel well/ bumper area. That should not be there, real ram air is on inlet. It uses the pressure from the moving car to "ram" the air in. W/ that extra inlet it depressurizes the whole intake & defeats the purpose. It does help to have the ram air because when you're moving it helps get good fresh, cold air in there but it's truely not ram air. I doubt your idea will help it any unless you get rid of one of the intakes.

Well i got the other box of the pieces today.... I was looking at pictures over the weekend and realized when RSM supercharges the ecotec, they do move the battery to where the airbox goes.

I think the hardest part is going to be bending all of the tubing... any suggestions? I was thinking a heat gun and finding something metal with the same diameter to keep inside so not to pinch the airflow.
