anyone?
I got my Viper system for $309 installed and i've never had a problem with theft. It's not a pager system but it's loud and reliable.

i've HEARD of compustar, but dont know of anyone to ever actually use one.
cory, why are you trying to cheap out on an alarm? all that stuff you've got in your car and your only going to spend $200 on an alarm?? keep saving your money and buy a great alarm. even excellent alarms are only about $600. that's $600 to protect a $3000 investment. i suggest you keep saving your money and buy a clifford G6 or G7, or whatever number they're on now. i had a G5 and it was an excellent alarm. i've got code alarm now and it's been good so far. emily has alpine on her GA, and the mom mobile has clifford on it also. viper makes a good alarm, and now they're made by the same people that make clifford
Also, the better the alarm and the more features it has, the lower your car insurance becomes. A pager system would really help that too. Just something to think about....

$600!!! For an alarm? It better give ya the reach-around for that much cash.
The truth of alarms... 90% of it is installation. I've seen $70 alarm/keyless/remote start work better than 'professional' installed $300+ 'top of the line' setups.

Insurance companies in Iowa dont give discounts for having a security system.

i dont care if my insurance company gives me a discount for having an alarm or not. i have an alarm to protect the stuff in my vehicle. i know that NO alarm is theft proof, but mine is hard as hell to get into. i think mine was about $500 installed, and it has remote start.
viper has always had a good alarm. i have a friend that used to have one on his pimp mobile (02 626) that would talk, roll the windows up/down, and remote starter. it was nice and i think he payed upward of $700 for it, but that was a few years ago, im sure the same technology is alot cheaper now

I am getting a Excaliber security system installed thursday. this is at the place that had the Omega and Ungo alarms. this is also $250 installed. including the Hood and trunk pin. when i went to the place with the Vipers they wanted $250 and it didnt include a hood or trunk pin or even the starter kill.

Auto start, page, prox senser, glass breakage alert, shock senser. trunk, hood, door sensers. I feel it's worth it.

Auto start is my most favorite thing about my alarm.
Oh and the car finder. I can't believe I can never remember where I park.

i had an excalibur and didn't really care for it looking back. at the time it was fine, but when you've had a G5 and now Code Alarm the excalibur just seemed like crap. hopefully you'll like yours better
trust me, once you get remote start you wonder what you ever did without it......especially when it's cold outside :D

just arm it and slap the hood or kick the tire. if it's broad daylight why would they get mad? now if you started testing it at say.....3am, then they might have a reason :P
