Looks like Dodge will be after GMs large market share of Patrol vehicles again.

I wouldn't mind getting pulled over by one of those.
Well, yeah, I would, but not as much. :bandit:

Does GM have a large share in police vehicles where you live? Down here it's all Ford Crown Vics. Highway Patrol gets the occasional Comaro or Firehawk, and many unmarked units are Malibus and Impalas, but the majority is still Ford, sadly. But yea, it would be cool to see a HEMI Charger cruiser.

We have Crown Victorias, Intrepids (2nd Gen), Impalas (lots), and a couple others.

The State Poilce used Crown Vics and Camaros but most the Crown Vics have been replaced by Impala's in most of the cities and townships around this area.

If I recal, their advertisments state they have (or had) like %90 market share.

I'm guessing most departments will opt for the V-6, but 250 hp/ 250 ft. lbs. isn't too shabby.

Mostly Crown Vics in NC. The Highway Patrol also has a few Camaro's. Some of the locals, have Impala's and SUV's.
Virginia Troopers have some unmarked Intrepids.

Staties County Mounties use Crown Vics, most local departments use Impala's, and the SP's on base here use Intrepid's and a few F150's.
this is one I remember

(Un)fortunately every one of Dodge's attempt at breaking in the police pack market has failed miserably after the good old days of the Diplomat ('85-ish).
They have a few Intrepids out there but every single police department I've heard of that got Intrepids wants to get rid of them. You really can't screw around with reliability on a PC. The Crown Vic is the only highly reliable car Ford has and that's why it hasn't changed significantly in years.

My father works for the City of Schenectady and when I was a kid his work car was a retired Diplomat police cruiser. I tell you, the smokey burnout that thing would do when he leave the house on his lunch break and head back to work was pretty cool. Not to mention it had city crest decals, push bumper and gumball lights most people crapped when you got behind them. But the down side is everyone would also drive about 5mph under the speed limit also. lol

I've been pulled over by a crown vic, an unmarked impala, and a SUV around the philly area.... I want to say the SUV was an explorer, but I'm not 100% sure... and I've still yet to actually see a Camaro Patrol Car.

That is crazy. Not only do they use WRX's for StatePoilce vehicles, but STi's to boot!

This was on another forum of mine, there is only one STi in the department, it was donated by a Subaru dealer, and it's used for publicity and promoting legal racing instead of street racing. This was just a shot for some advertisement against street racing:

Around here its mostly crown vics and impalas. A couple intrepids and SUV's too. I've never seen a pony patrol car, other than in books and mags, but have seen the vettes and camaro's. Would not want to have one of those after me, or even the charger for that matter.

The RCMP have a lot of "special" cars up here. They have a Prius, an Insight, a Grand Cherokee, a Volvo, many Imps and Explorers plus a few natural gas variants of different more common models (like cavies).

That car is pretty sweet, they have one on display in downtown montgomery in the state trooper building.
Montgomery still uses
Newer Vics and a few older vics from around 94
A few undercover caprices with hidden light bars. To make it so bad they look like a plain old Caprice. They even have the wire hub caps.
Blazers and explores are use for the k-9 unit.
They send the all black Suburbans after you if you mess up real bad.
I even saw a undercover police edition Taurus at the police garage about 3 years ago.
I believe the state trooper has a vette or camero
