Headunit help...Please

Alright, this may have been answered before, but I searched, and couldn't find it. I'm wondering if I take out the Monsoon Head unit in my 2001 Grand Am GT, and replace it with a Alpine 9847 Head unit, and I do not use the piece to keep the door chimes, is all that I am going to lose the door chimes? Or are other things like the air bags not going to work also?

I just bought the car today. and I absolutely can not stand that stereo that is in there, I gotta get it out ASAP, so if someone could help me fast, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot in advance.

Yeah this one has been brought up more than enough times. Just do a search in the audio section and you will find what you're looking for.

ok to those of you that keep saying search i often do and find nothing along the lines of what im looking for. and then someone will link me to somthing that ive already read and didnt find any use in. the search option tends to be more frustrating for me any solutions??

Short anwser, yes, if you just get a regular harness you'll lose the chimes, but everything else will function correctly. On a side note, you might get a SVS light.
