I heard the most apalling thing today!

Yes, it was a sad, sad day. It was a fairly slow day in Physics today, so I was talking a bit with Julia, this really hot girl that sit right next to me. ANd somehow we got to the topic of cars, and I was talking about my Grand Am (as I usually do), and I asked her what kind of car she had. She laughed and said she had an 00 Grand Am SE. She said she hated it, she then proceeded to say that Grand Ams are the worst car she has ever driven. I was crying inside, but I tried to hold it together and calmly explain to her the wonders of the Grand Am, she would listen to none of it! She stuck to her "Grand Ams are worthless". Why!?!?!?! How? Maybe she is mistaking her Honda Civic for a Grand Am (apparently, as many people do since they have vtec badges on theirs) I don't know what to do.... But I definitely can't take her for a ride in mine, it wouldnt show the true colors of the Grand Am... But, I swear I will turn her to the Grand Am side sooner or later. :pontiac:

Any girl that thinks they are too good for ANY car is not worth my time. Maybe I am just a bit of a cynic here, but a car is just a machine and both the Yugo and the McLaren F1 will get you from point A to point B every bit as fast as the law allows. :)

I have been in a 1998 GAGT with the 2.4L and an automatic. That car is not a slouch by any means.

But, an update::
Upon interrogating her more last night, it is porbably because of that wheel bearing issue some other people have been having. So I asked to drive her car for a bit, yes the wheel sqeual but its perfect otherwise, shes got the 3400, so I asked her why she was complaining, and I stepped on it for her, and said "See, this is how you enjoy the car..." She didn't know it could do that (women drivers, agh!) But she confessed she still didn't like the exterior styling, and the cup holders are stupid. I, still defending the car to my fullest abilities, told her there's nothing you can do for the cup holders, they will always be stupid, and that maybe she sould look into some after-market styling for bodykits, vinyl, maybe some new headlight bulbs, get some GT tails and clear them, etc. She's never modded a car nor thought about it, so maybe I am turning her slowly but surely to the GA Side. Now atleast she doesn't yell at the car anymore...

I have yet to meet a girl who didnt like the styling of the newer grand am's. One time when I was 16 I went to pick up my cousin at college, she had like 5 roomates, all hot :D and they all wanted a ride. unfortunately we didn't have any time :( but that's okay, it's the fact that they wanted a piece of the good ol GA. :D

lol, shes not the internet type (coughDialUpcough), she only uses it for research, etc. But, that would definitely be easier, having like 10000 people convert her instead of just me. Oh man, talk about a group effort, :lol:

My girl fell in love with me because of my car. I also got to first, second, third and home becasue of my car. Lmfao, actually, my girl just likes the style and look of my car. She always said she loved grand am's and when I took her home that first night, it must of been the interior neons and the nice clean outside that glistened off her eyes when she said for me to give her a call again sometime. Ive seen her practically every day of my life since then and that was a year ago now. See, get her to love the car and she will love you ;).

off the Grand Am topic, but my friend has a blazer with TV's (headrests, visors 20"s etc..) and howas out driving and had a car load of girls pull up next to him at a light, and say..." Are those 20's? ... Oh my God... Are Those TV's?!" Not exactly sure how the rest of the night turned out for him, but I know he pulled over and chatted with them for a while.

Not everyone shares the same view. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that's what you have to remember. I use to think my 95 SE was the greatest thing ever made. After I got my Eclipse I noticed major differences. Mainly came down to a few years of technology difference, however I don't want to drive another GA after driving an Eclipse. Nothing wrong with GA's though. They are ok. However I am fully awarethere are better cars than my Eclipse.
