Shutting off the traction control and I can get the wifes tires to spin pretty darn good on dry pavement.

I Try not to, them automatic transmissions cost to much. Anyway after living through the muscle car era one wheel peels just don’t do it for me.:(

Not that I do it frequently, but it can be done. :)

Uhh....you do realize what forum you're on, correct? Saying something like that about a Cobalt is blasphemy!!

i have a 97 gt with the 2.4 quad and a five speed .i can most definitely spin them like that in the rain, both tires. On a dry day mabe just one goes, but its easy to loosen the tires with a 5 speed.

I can spin them into 2nd gear, rain or shine. Though like TA Guy, I don't do that too often.:)

so, does Rayz even like Grand Ams, or does he just sign on here to make us young people feel bad about missing the days of high compression, big cubic inch cars? haha

A little of both I own 2 Grand-Am's, But I can't help but feel a bit nostalgic sometimes.
Don’t worry in Thirty years you’ll be telling people how your car had an internal combustion engine and how noise would come out of the exhaust pipes

http://cobaltss.net/gallery I was able to have a good look at a Cobalt SS today. There was one displayed in front of a Chevy dealer in my area. The Cobalt SS is one sweet ride. I can identify with the vehicle. It is fully loaded and needs nothing but the 'Performance Package'. One thing I would do, is pull off that exhaust system from the cat on back. It screams out for a 'True'high-performance cat-back system. :)

I used to do in in my GAGT as well. Heck, I could squak 2nd gear too in the dry :D

Love the new Cobalt SS. That's one sweet car. I doubt it really starts at 15K though.
Aaahh memories of my Z24. This one is built much, much better.

Test drove a Colbat last night... sorry nopt a SS, a LT<?>. Nice but way too small. It's a shame too because it ahd a few nice options and the dealer was going to give us $7349 (pay it off) for our '00 GAGT and send us on our way in the Cobalt with payments of $269 a month with only $1000 down. But our baby stroller barely fit in the trunk. and with the car seat in the back my 8 yearold daughter would be crowded. Not to mention my wife and I in the front seat rubbing elbows the entire time. Not to mention my wife couldn't stand the lack of power. She drove it and cried "It has no... power. What is it 145hp and 40 ft/lbs or torque?" Atleast I have a woman that knows what real power feels like. lol

Oh jesus! I needs me a woman like that. I could easily fall in love with a girl that knew what hp and tq are, and used them both in a sentence correctly. You lucky jerk!

 A 3.0L turbo I-4...mmmm....I've always loved that series Porsche, I wanted to go find a 944 and drop in a 305 or 350 to use as a weekend warrior, but maybe a 968 would be more better :) Aren't those really rare though? I've heard of them before, but never seen one.

A non-turbo 968 puts out about 236 HP and a coupe can be had for under 10,000 Cabriolet about 15,000 the last year was 1995

Not that this is in my plans anytime soon, but how much do you think a Turbo S could be had for, assuming good mechanical condition?
