question...I noticed on the vehicle report there was no mention of sugar ever being in the gas tank. Shouldn't that be mentioned to any would be buyer?

most states require that there be enough $ amount of damage done to the vehicle.

I saw on MythBusters on the Discovery Channel that the whole sugar in the gas tank thing is BS, they dumped a few pounds of sugar into maybe 10 gallons of gas, the car ran all the way through that tank, they refilled it and it kept running for hours

I saw that episode too, but how sure can they be that it didn't damage something somewhere or cause something to go wrong because of it??
I guess that is the risk you take when buying a used car, not sure of what its past has been.

Also would depend on what time of fuel system they used, if its got an external pump, then it wouldnt be as bad, but with an intank pump like almost all newer cars have it can wreak havoc.

I remember seeing that....
they said it was a small block Chevy, yet it looked EXACTLY like a big block Cadillac
sugar in the tank, egg in the radiator, screws down the carb...... forgot what else... finally bleech in the oil which caused the engine to finally die.... actually, it didn't really die, it got so hot that it caught their wooden engine stand on fire, so they had to shut it down.... it was still running :)

yup your right nightwolf , it was outta a cadillac. Remember? they proceeded after the engine was out to go see if the myth that shooting a car's gas tank will cause it to blow up, and that standing behind a car door can offer protection from bullets. It was an older cadillac that they used, not sure which one.

I replaced her with a 2005 GTGA with the SC/T package. It's black also.
As for the sugar, it may it may not be a myth. All I know is the car started and the quit and would not start again. I was told they were replacing my fuel filter and fuel pump and the gas tank got sent off to be cleaned out. Since I bought the car for a warranty and piece of mind, that now I don't have, I decided to trade her. I am certain had anything ever gone wrong with the engine they would have said my warranty was vooided because of the incident. Also, I certainly would never buy a used car that had sugar in the tank.
