I was working on a solution for the fading problem on the black mirrors for ses and came up with the answer, I used armorall diomond shine carnuba wax, Waxed them just like you would the car and they are back to looking new again. Im asuming this is only temporary but its looks good now.

That's exactly what I use and I'm very happy with the results. And yes it is temporary, just like waxing the whole car.

black GTs also suffer from this as there is no need for GM to paint them to match the car.
Another thing that works great is Bug & Tar remover. I believe Shawn passed along that tip and it worked great for me.

Yup, turtlewax Bug & Tar remover worked wonders for me. Day and night difference, and the results lasted. :)

Thanks to shawns tip, I do that too... it lasted all winter looking decent! today I used that, then polished them with car polish, then carnauba waxed on top.. Look great now!

i got some scruff marks on one side i forget which but i wanna have the mirrors match the car until i can buy some universal mirrors with the turn signal on them.....i have the artic white paint so which # paint should i get to do them?

I painted my mirrors black today. The drivers mirror looks good, but i got a few runs in the passenger mirror. I'll have to fix it later because it got late. The passenger mirror looks better than it did though, because there are not hugh scrathes anymore thanks to sand paper.
