got a 94 ga with 3100 and having intermitent problems. when acting up the rpms with jump all over at idle and engine will die if not kept running, also has very low power. being it is intermittent its a pain to troubleshoot. Anyone had a similar problem.

is that all you got for him? lol....

what kind of intermitten problems?
List them point form....

The RPM gauge will dance around?
That could be a PCM or ECM problem....
needs a reflashing....hopfully not a new one...lol..

Stalls on idle, must be kept running at speed?
Did it ever have power? what has been done while you've had it?

might not be kicking down into 1st gear, staying in second... also an apperent lose of power... But no idea without more info...

sorry guys had to post quick last time...

ive had the car for about 2 years. Have not had any problems with engine other than an intake gasket and egr passage being blocked. now it has been giving me trouble. once in awhile when the engine gets warmed up it wont idle smooth, it doesnt miss at all just the rpms dance up and down, up to 1500 then back down to about 500 then back up to 1500 and so fourth. when iput in gear it will die unless i hit the gas to go. even when i got it just boggs. the trottle response is horrible. with all of this no SES light.

yes the car did have power when i bought it, never used to shift out of overdrive on interstate now cant keep it in OD, shifts out of lockup and then kicks down.

i was thinking it could be the tps but not sure. so far i have replaced fuel filter, air filter and changed oil, unhook batt cables to reset computer.

dont know where else to go with this...

thanks for help
Mike

after troubleshooting found tps to be out of range when it was hot. replaced sensor and so far so good...
