the only rims thatll fit on my 99 grand am are rims with lugnut pattern 5x115mm?? and what does that mean??
there is no way a 5x120mm rim could fit??

No way, no how. They get the measurement from measuring from one hole to the next hole opposite it.

Even if the pattern is the same, the wheels offset would be opposite of a FWD's...in other words, the wheels would stick out 3 inches from the fender.

5x115mm mean five studs (5) and a 115 mm diameter bolt circle.

The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. The offset can be one of three types.
Zero Offset
The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel.
Positive
The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars.
Negative
The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset.
