Greetings members, I am in the process of purchasing a 99 SE2 from a guy up the road for $5k. It only has 26k miles on it and was owned by an elderly gentleman, and besides a few minor blemishes in the paint, is in immaculate condition. As a matter of fact, up until the other day it still had the plastic on the passenger and rear floormats and is still on it's first set of tires. Needless to say, I think I'm getting a pretty good deal. ;)

This looks like a pretty good site for information, so I think I'll hang around for a while. Most of my experience has been with small block chevys and trucks, but as long as it's GM I'm good to go. The wife has a Grand Prix that has been rock solid for us for the past 10 years, so I'm no stranger to Driving Excitement. Hopefully I will be able to add something to the content here, but to start out I have 2 questions for everyone. 1, does anyone have a VIN decoder for the grand ams? and 2, does anyone here use their grand am in SCCA events? Just curious if anyone does and how they do.

Thanks! JHP

I have never been in an SCCA event... But there was a college autocross event hosted by University of Detroit Mercy a week or so ago and in the results I noticed a Grand Am took first place in its division.

oh, and welcome!!
