ok, some one while while back said that a 2.4L header sold for a cavy/sunfire would fit the 96-98's if the o2 senser is flipped around. but not so. my shop up here tryed it. but he found that its not the o2 he had trouble with. it was the pipes them self hitting the fire wall. the pipes hit right at where they make the downward bend. they go out to far before they bend down. i included a lil drawing i did in MSPaint to help show this, it iaint the best but it shows what he was telling me. i dont know the brands, but he tryed headers from 4 different companys and they all did the same thing.
i dont know when i'l be able to get back on, i'm about to make a drive from maryland to texas. time to get back to work.... but i'l try to check back in. and everything else with the car is done. and he gonna put the stock manifold back on it.

he said he would have to cut the fire wall to make it fit. and all the HVAC crap is right in the way. but i'l jus wait till i can get the car from my folks in sept or oct. i'm taking her blazer baack to texas with me for now. and my car should be done ina day or so, he just putting the old manifold back onfor now.

It has been done, but it didnt take the o2 sensor to fix it, Darkfox on quad4fourms had to cut the pipes right were they bend at the top and reweld them back. go to quad4fourms.com and search he has a write up for it.

or you could wait for www.the-race-shop.com to make a long tube header, not that shorty header crap, the one they make for the 2.3L made about 20hp on an HO motor.

no thats the 2.3 header, he hasnt made a 2.4 header yet. But he said after the 2.3 goes (and if it goes) well then he will make 2.4 headers for use 96-98 nbody guys. then to the 95 jbodies, then to who knows what.

I am sorry that you were misinformed Nick; The 2.4 L header that was made for the Cavalier / Sunfire will only fit on 1999+ Grand Ams, 1998 and below it will not fit. :(
For the record, it was not I who suggested it would fit.

its going to cost your 400-500 to get a garbage pacesetter header fit your car?!?!?!?!
If your going to spend that kind of money then go here
http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41877 and get a real header

To get a ceramic coated header from TRS is going to be about 500, and its going to be a way better peice then that garbage you have now. Sell that shit on ebay and buy the TRS header when it comes out.
