engine problems

i was driving at maybe 2000RPM in second, floored it and the motor started to go but paused for a sec then went, Well latter i'm getting of interstate downshifted into 3rd, about 3500rpm. here poping coming from rear, sounds like engine is backfireing, also SES light cames on.

any ideas on what it could be:???: ????

My first thought is burned valves. Get a compression test done.

update: i put new spark plugs, fuel filter, and changed oil today.

I drove around for along time and couldn't recreate the backfiring during downshifting. however the SES light still comes on when downshifting.
I think i'm gonna get the computer scanned and see what that says

Good to hear theres one TGA that is running, thats is one frickin nice lookin car by the way, i surprisingly love the spoiler, its nice!!
