Well it's not a Solstice or a GTP G6, but it is a fun car :)

Yep, an '05 2.2L Ecotech equipped Malibu Sedan

The reason that I recieved this car for testing was that GM wants to put the 2.2 through some rigourous testing before emplimenting them into the G6. So being a male and 25 years old I guess they figured if anyone could break it, it would be me :) lol

Anyway, I do have to give this thing kudos. While it's not going to win you any drag races, it does have enough "Umph" to get out of it's own way. Rated at 145hp out of the box, it's not terribly underpowered.

Interior room and functunality is very good. I'm 6'2" and have plenty of head and legroom. Even in the back seat!

Ride comfort and handling is good for the larger car that it is. Parked next to my mothers Kia Optima in the garage, it dwarfs the smaller Kia.

Overall I'd give it a 7.8 out of 10.

Pics are following :)

If my job description included trying to destroy a tiny ecotec engine with my harsh driving, then Id be the happiest man ever.

It's always nice when a car company hands you the keys to something and says "Here, go drive the piss out of this"...

Well it's not EXACTLY what they say..... but we all know it's implied ;)

GOod luck on killing an Ecotec, I have to give GM credit that they built one tough little engine, I think only the Northstars went through more rigorous testing.

I'll tell ya Jay, I could have gotten in there and crawled around with the room left in that engine bay.

As for killing it....... you're right. It's gonna be difficult!

so.... wierd.... my airbox is on the other side, kinda fills out the engine bay more :) Any given time I can either just cruise or beat the piss out of it and it still keeps going..... almost 36k miles strong so far :)
