OK, the stock tires, the RS-A's have a tire pressure of 30psi with a max of 44, at least thats that the sticker on the door says to inflate them at.

I just got new tires and on the sidewall it says that the max load psi is 51. I know I shoudn't have it at 51, but the installers put the new tire pressure at 30 and, I'm fairly convinced that I should have it higher than 30 now. What do you all think?

If the tires are the same size as stock, I would run them between 30 and 35 PSI. If they're a lower-prifile than stock, then you'd probably run them between 35 and 40. In realiry, inflate them to where YOU feel confortable, and get a good balance between handling, ride, and fuel economy. With improper ppressure you will wear the tires improperly... Too much and the center wears out faster. Too little and you wear out the shoulders.

A trick us off-roaders used to use was to put a chalk line across the treads. Drive a few feet in the driveway, then stok to check that the chalk is worn off evenly across the width of the tread.

Im an installer of tires and pretty much, we got with between 32-35 psi on passenger cars, trucks are different depending on the type of tires.

Just an update, I had a tire with a 51 max psi reading earlier today. From what ive been told, running it between 32-35 psi is still ok, but if the customer wants, you can run it up to 40-42 psi, but mainly that is for fuel economy. In most cases though, sticking to 35 psi is probably the best all around.

i usually inflate my tires cold at 30psi, when the tires are at normal operating temp, the tire pressure increases to about 35psi, which is where i want to be.

Thanks everyone, for your opinion. My roommate said he has a complex mathematical equation for it. So i watched him do it and it IS complex, but he came up with a tire pressure of 40.6psi :P

put the equation up on here and im sure someone can check it out and make sure you aren't getting bad info

I've been runnin 40 and I'm begining to notice the wear in the middle... time to take them down to 35 :)

I run 35 in the front because of the weight and 30 in the rear.

I run 38 on the front and 36 on the rear. with a max of 44
I get the best wear that way. And the chalk trick does work.
