Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before. I have a 1998 Grand AM where the side window seals (mouldings) on the outside of the windows are starting to bubble under the rubber. Not sure if its the environment here or what. I went to the dealer to get a quote on replacements and they are very expensive and I am afraid that the replacements will do the same thing. Is there an alternative? And is this a know issue on the 96-98 generation of Grand AM's?

are the bubbles in the seals against the body or the glass? If it is aginst the body, it may be rust causing it to lift, and bubble. It could also be weathered seals. Do you periodically apply a silcone lube to them? Have a close look, find out the cause, so you end up with the proper solution.

Thanks for the tips. Its the type of seal that attaches to the top of the door and then presses against the window. Most of the 96-98 GA's I see around here have the same issue with the bubbling.

My wifes car has the same problem (1996, 2.4, 4 Door). The problem is worse on the back doors then the front. If you lift the rubber a little, with your finger nail, you should be able to see if you have some corrosion starting.
