goes off at I believe 7500 miles, does not actually check the oil.

I still change mine at 3-4 thou. I dont care if it's a waste of money just what seems right to me

After re-reading my post I realize that "turns on at 7500 miles" would be a better way to phrase it

It basically keeps a log of all these items and makes a decision based on a preset formula:

1- Engine Temperature.
2- Engine Revoloutions.
3- Engine Load.

Then it lights it up at the approprite time. This system is designed for conventional oils though.

The reset procidure is documented in your owners manual but here it is:

Open drivers side door.
Remove fuse panel.
Put key in ignition an turn to "ON" position (do not start).
Press the "RESET" button once (located inside fuse panel)
- Change oil light will flash -
Press the "RESET" button once more and you will hear a chime.
- Light will go off -
Key off the car, replace the fuse panel and you're all done.

One more way that might work is to:

- Put key in ignition an turn to "ON" position (do not start).
- Tap the gas pedal 3 times all the way to the floor and back quickly.
- You should hear chimes confirming that the computer has been reset.

This may or may not work but worth a try.

Set all tires to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, engine OFF.
Press and hold the RESET button and release.
The CHANGE OIL indicator will start flashing.
Press and release the RESET button again.
The CHANGE OIL indicator will turn OFF and the CHECK TIRE PRESSURE will start flashing.
While the CHECK TIRE PRESSURE indicator is flashing, press and hold the RESET button until the chime sounds.
