Ok, as explained in another post, I plan to drive across Canada in July. Each way is about 4500km.

So far, ive been maintaining the car well.
Anytime something has been wrong I've fixed it, barring my latest problem with a slight coolant leak, you can see that in my other thread.

So now, I know that I have to do my tires, cuz they are all shot, and at least 1 rim is badly warped, the others the guy said SHOULD be fine when i put new tires on.

I also need new front brakes and rotors.
Ive got a K&N air filter that I will clean before I go.
I last did the spark plugs and wires at 80,000km. I am now at 146,000km.
I replaced them with the dealship wires and ac delco platinum plugs.
I don't really think that I have a problem with gapping or misfiring, but I'm gonna pull a plug and check it.

Ive also had the car checked over fairly recently. Belts all seem good. I'm gonna get a second opinion on that though. I did do the fuel filter around 60km or so, how often does that need to be hcanged?

Anything you can think of that I should check?
Also, what oil should I use that would be best for highway driving for long periods of time. The car will be run about 10 hours a day, with very little stopping along the way.

Thanks!

uh, i would stick with your normal oil, just do an oil change when you leave, and one when you get back. take some extra winshield fluid with you and perhaps an extra quart of oil just in case.

you should be fine, think of all the other people that drive like this that don't even take care of their car... those people seem to make it ok
