Exhaust and Intake are great places to start. Some lightweight rims would help you out alot too.It all depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Cosmo racing has a sweet WAI for about $50.
Custom Exhaust with high-flow cat should run you around $200.
Rims and tires would be my next move, just try to find some on ebay.

The one necessary mod you will have to do to make it a drifting car, is make it rear wheel drive, which isn't cheap or easy either...otherwise you're kinda out of luck...:(

many thanks on all the comments i have seen some nice fwd drifters so i was going to try that for a bit then if needed save for a bit and convert it to rwd but we will see how it works i think the fact it pills out on stop signs means i may have enough power to start with i will be getting a intake first i think

If you want to go drifting, the results willl never be the same as a RWD car. Plus it helps alot to have a manual tranny. :)
Your enthusiasm is excellent (look at my sig tag and avatar pic) but I myself would find a a 240SX or Corrolla GTS for what you want to do.

:welcome: to the club...
sorry to say it, but I would save up for a RWD car if you plan on drifting. not saying you can't do it with a GA, but it's not the optimal setup. anyway, I hope you get to like this site, sorry I can't really help with any drifting tips... except that you might wanna hang out in the suspension modification forum.
