I don't know if this is a problem or if it may be leading up to something or if it's nothing at all. Well my 2.4L is an automatic and just lately when I put it into drive I will start to accelerate slightly. When I do that it will barely move, like it's just idle. Then it will kick into drive with a little jerk. Any info would be appreciated.

It's a sign that there is something wrong with the Transmission!
Have it checked as soon as you can before it gets worse.

Whats the mileage and have you ever done an Auto Tranny Oil Flush? It should be done no more than 50K apart.

Trany is most likely low.

Think of it like a garden hose, when you fisrt turn it on, becuase the water had drained out, it takes a few for the hose to pressurize up. When the trany is low, the fluid can drain and it has to repressurize before it works right to.

Well I drove to school today and I guess it's in a really high gear. It felt like it was idle because I wasn't on the gas hard enough. But it shouldn't start off in such a high gear like that should it? It's like I'm starting in 4th and then I put on the gas a little and it kicks into first.

I might be wrong and it could be something else, but a trany is hydrolic, and hydrolic system need to be fully charged or filled to work right.

Is the RPM's high before you put it in drive ?

if yes then there is most likely a vac-leak.

It hasn't done it at all since this morning.

Get your Tranny oil flushed and changed regardless if you haven't done it in a while.
