This is a great place to find stuff...Do a search and you will find what you are looking for. :)

cai for the 3.1L and the 3100 are nonexistant really... there is one that is black hosing not metal or chrome finished either from http://www.milzymotorsports.com/ (not sure if that is correct) for around 100.

most people have been taking civic cai's and custom fitting them to their ga's.

same goes for the headlights.

milzysmotorsports pretty much offers the most you can get for a 31L or 3100 gm engine. and his prices aren't all that bad

I kno it sounds like i'm advertising him... but really i'm not trying to it's just coming out that way.

There are actually a few options for a cold air intake for the 3100. Do a search and browse the performance section and you will see. :)

Im sorry to tell you this, but if you wanted a car to tune up a 95 GA is not the best.

Mechancial wise there's plenty to do...it's just that most of it will be one-off custom jobs. The biggest drawback to our year is that we can't tune the electronics to the upgrades without going to aftermarket engine management.

I understand that this is not the best year/car for a street performance car. but there has to be something, i have nothing against aftermarket parts and i could work some stuff out with a place called Fully Involved down in waynesville MO... 15 min away from my place... for the custom fittings, but i have seen alot of stuff down to this make/year/model of car, it comes stock with CAI... the air intake goes from the engine to the filter and then down into the fender.... problem is i dont know much about cars except the more feul and air you cram into a cylinder the more hp you get... my biggest concern right now is that when i accelerate it makes a horrible grinding noise and vibrations... i dont know if its the motor mount or the CV joints... but i do know that it is robbing alot of hp. I'm looking for ways to increase accel. hp. gas mileage... it would be great if there was something like a boomer computer for it to where i can set it to different settings instead of putting a resistor in it and it always running rich and wasting gas and burning up my stuff. i plan on putting a trbonator in it after i fix this grinding. I did the math and it would be cheaper to get this car up to street performance than it would to buy a riceburner and soup it up...plus i like this year and make because if i get this car to performance levels, that weould be unique anyone can get a mustang, civic, mitsubishi and have a selection of thousands of parts for it... this car is a POS but its my baby.

one more thing.... controlling the rpms at which the car shifts... its shifting way off track... i was going down the interstate today and had the pedal clear to the floor and there was like a 20 sec delay before it finally shifted and then went into passing gear.

Well true the stock airbox does draw air from the fenderwell but it does so through a hole barely the size of the throttlebody. Upgrades to the intake don't allow more air into the cylinders. They allow the engine to draw air into the cylinders easily without wasting as much power to do so. Same thing with exhaust. The less restriction, the less power it uses to push the exhaust gases out. As for the turbonator do a search for it here...

Also if you're in 4th gear and mash the pedal it's going to take awhile to shift to 3rd. Here's the trick with automatics; let go of the accelerator for a moment and then mash it. When you let off a bit the tranny will shift back to 3rd.

another thing, in the dash behind the wheel where the gauges are, there is no rpm tach, is there a place to get one and get it installed, i want a stock rpm tach not the ones the mount on the dashboard cause the custom gauges i want or any replacement gauge cover has the rpm and speedometer and then the rest of the stuff and i think this car originally had an rpm tach in it but this car used to be a standard too and now its automatic....will a local automotive shop sell/install the stock rpm tach for me? or is there a place to order one..

I've got the Optional Cluster (Tach) for a 95 GA V6 for sale.

$100 + Shipping

And also, you will need a certain part number in order for the Oil Gauge to work, which I can provide.

if your car originally had the 3100 it was never a 5spd. a 5spd would be an excellent mod for your car though..

i'd stay away from the turbonator lol

tranzgenic makes a CAI for your car; any exhaust will have to be custom - 2.25 or 2.5" depending on future plans; get the downpipe and everything done, not just the muffler or a cat-back, and try to get mandrel bent.

intake and exhaust mods can give you ~ 15hp together and add 2-3mpg to your highway efficiency - they can also take 2-3mpg off your city driving if you're not careful, because you're giving up some torque for more high-end hp, and because most people wh've modded their cars tend to be heavier on the pedal. beyond that, porting and polishing the manifolds or swapping the top end with a newer 3100 or a 3400 would probably help out highway economy too, plus a nice boost on the top end; it's a more complicated job. best thing to do for efficiency is keep excess weight out of the car, keep up with routine mait. and don't drive it too hard.

If you want computer upgrades, try asechip.com. RSM Racing has CAI, S/C kits, etc - check them out.

will this tranzgenic CAI fit right in or will i have to do some cutting, moving the battery around is n/p i'll have to take it somewhere to get it cut to make it fit though, if its ness. first i want to get the CV joints and engine mounts fixed to get rid of this horrible grinding cause im sure im losing torque and hp from too much stuff moving around thats not supposed to and i need to search around for bushings for the stabilizer bar and will prolly need a new one too cause my g/f bottumed it out.... >.<.... lol instead of putting on another stock bumper and stuff i should just go ahead and get the body kit and stop letting her drive....

are throttlebody spacers an option for this car?

You can get polyurethane suspension bushings from a company called energy suspension. RSM also sells a complete bushing kit and poly upper/lower engine mounts but nothing with that company is ever cheap. Prothane also makes an upper engine mount for slightly less than half the cost of RSM's. Milzymotorsports.com also makes a CAI along with many other upgrades plus good stuff coming in the future.

I looked on energy suspension's and prothane's website and didn't see applications for 94-95 grand ams. Where do u find them?

Company websites these days with their lack of updating...

Try www.highrevmotorsports.com for the prothane mount (they're backordered) and do a vehicle specific search at www.driverfx.com for the bushings. There may or may not be better places to get these items.
