Eggs and Paint

So yeah my school has alot of vandalism problems in the parking lot. And today about a dozen cars got egged bad, and mine was one of them. I want to know do eggs dull and ruin the paint, or do you just have to scrub real hard to get them out?

haha...nope they totally ruin the paint, my friends car got egged and she didn't get to clean it off for like 12 hours after and you can tell where it was, it fades and makes the paint chip

If left on too long, egg will definatly ruin the paint. Clean it off IMMEDIATLY.

Arg man not alot of good news lol. Well I washed it immediatly, and you can still tell some spot where it hit. Tonight, I am going to wash it again, with goo gone.

Do you think I could fill an insurance claim if it gets too bad, and get my car painted?

You could claim it if you have comprehensive coverage as a vandalism claim. But I wouldn't advise it unless you absolutely have to.

Yeah, I got hit in winter. I think the extreme cold actually saved me - no baking under hot sun. The paint is basically OK from the egg contents, but the impact left a mark.

I had a car get egged and it chipped the paint. I'm not sure if it was the impact since both vehicles were moving, or if it was the egg. Clear coats are pretty tough compared to older paint (or that's what they say) but the right solvent destorys anything.

Also, if you leave egg on your car you deserve the paint to fall off. Actually you deserve the paint to get off the car and physically smack you upside the head.
