Shock replacement??

Well my girlfriend called a local mechanic shop to set a appointment for 4 new shocks for her 99 GA se. The guy said they require new struts also when changing shocks on these vehicles, Is this Bull Sh**t or is he for real. Does the car have shocks or struts? Thanks

Your '99 has struts on all 4 corners, not shocks. :)
