Damn, she looks hot. How is the fiberglass holding up? Did you do a few extra layers of glass to make sure the kit held up? Or did you just keep it with the amount of layers it came with from AAS?

looks good man, glad to see the finnished product! I SHOULD have some pics of my lights on tomorrow night. I'll take my camera into work tomorrow and get a few shots after we close. The mesh doesn't restrict any light, can't tell theres mesh in there when the lights are on....

Car looks really blue, is that b/c you added some colors into it or is that just the way the pictures make it look. I know my Manta green does that at times in pictures.

Thats awsome man. That color is beautiful
Jaysin
05-13-2005, 09:56 AM
Well i added colour to it for the colour question
About the extra layers of glass, that wasnt done but 4 braces on each bumper were made, they are very strong now
The spoiler is the Universal Sniper from Extreme Dimentions..I bought it because is was simple like you said and not 13 feet high rice.
I also put in my flowmaster 80 series about 3 hours after i got the car from the body shop, but just blew 5200 bucks that day so i put on some temp. 10 dollar tips.

Ya i dont really like the 99+ Andys kit, I also dont care for the 96-98 aed one, i wish andys was poly urethane.

05-13-2005, 10:22 AM
ok heres how it would look with intrax.
Jaysin
05-13-2005, 10:24 AM
I like the drop, but im so afraid of destroying the kit on a dip in the road or something like that. Im even a little wary without the drop and just the kit.

05-13-2005, 10:26 AM
yea i hear ya. i knwo that on my car i have issues and i dont even have a kit. i always bang my undercarriage stuff on stuff, and every once in a while i get hung up on a speed bump. luckily i know have a daily driver and grand am just chills in the driveway.

05-13-2005, 11:08 AM
yea the andys kit for the 96-98 is the best. the 99+ dont look as good
VanishingImage
05-13-2005, 11:46 AM
the only problems you'll have with our kit and being lowered is inclinded driveways or pulling into parking lots, speed bumps, just take them slow and pot holes, just be aware of what roads they are on,other wise its not to bad. I don't have many rock chips, only ,maybe a couple but they are little specs that you can't see unless you get your eyes right up on them. Ive got a major inclinded driveway but have no problem getting up with my Sprint(or ST) springs, about a 2inch drop all the way around.

Don't worry about it being dropped, I have intrax and the front splitter and I can still get around just fine.

Ya its been one day and i got a chip in my front passenger door by the handle..dont know how it got there. But during my 40 minute lunch break from school i drove 15 minutes to get it touched up and 15 minutes back. I was also driving with no front plate and the body shop had it still (illegal where i live, sucks, looks wayyy better without)

damn that is one nice 96-98, and that spoiler sets it off sooo much, looks better than the stock one (and from me that is quite the compliment since I though the stock one is the only spoiler [short of the Fiero spoiler] that does this car justice) Overall, excellent, I cant even find a flaw! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ :thumbup2:

Thanks everyone, im glad it turned out this good. and for who asked the price, i said already but it was 1200 overall for the kit ( i live in canada...so everything is alot), 400 for spoiler, then 5000 for the fitting and painting

Too bad you still have to use a front plate in Ontario. Here in Novascotia, it isn't required anymore. Having no front plate makes the front of a car look so much nicer.

Looks good man. I honestly am not sure if I like how the wheels flow with the kit, Maybe it just needs a drop and then it would look better. But Here is an IDEA. I don't think anyone has thought of this before. Find a 99+ SE pulls the hubs and lugs off of it. GO buy some 077's and throw them on there. OMG I should have kept my 93 and done that. Noones ever done that before.

$5000 for the fitment and paint? wow. that's a lot.(even if it's canadian) Car looks good, but I think either the body guy made a good chunk of money off you, or the kit needed some work to get it to fit.
I like it though. looks smooth. too bad about the front plate law. At least it looks like you didn't have to drill your bumper.
Jaysin
05-18-2005, 11:08 AM
well there was alot of body work, and he did make me a custom colour, and he paint the middle of the doors(between front and back doors black, painted mirrors black, fixed all my rust and dents, and basically garanteed the paint and do all touch ups for free. Im happy with it.
VanishingImage
05-18-2005, 07:39 PM
looks awesome man. You keeping the mirrors black or going to have them painted too? I painted mine and they look so much better painted. Id use some suction cups to mount the license plate on the inside part of the windshield, keep the front bumper clean looking. I got my plated with suction cups mounted on the passenger side. I think the rims look sweet, and agree if they were 19's theyd look HOT
ga5speed02
05-18-2005, 09:58 PM
know what might be hot, the 99+ GT mirrors on the 96-98 if thats possible

05-18-2005, 10:11 PM
i wondered if those were possible... cuz they do look a hell of a lot better... next time i'm around my friends 01 gt i'll have to look and see what the diff is. they may not be the same size... but if the mounting is smaller than that's fine cuz i can cuztom make a fitment for it. but if it is a completly diff shape that couldn't be done then that would suck.
i only need manual mirrors anyways... don't think i wanna go electric mirror or window... two less probs i have to deal with.
i'm used to my mechanical mirrors and windows. lol

05-18-2005, 10:49 PM
the newer mirrors won't fit our models

That and the SC/T are the only kits that I like for Grand Ams of any year. Looks reaaaal good. Not a fan of the color, or the amount of doors, but it looks fantastic, good work! You even pull off that wing well, nice job.
Jaysin

Some people dont like the fours doors, but i dont mind em, ill just shave the rear handle off and most average idiots wont be able to tell in my town. Besides how many really nice looking 4 doors do you see? maybe i can be one of em
