I got my 99 3.4 Ram Air V-6 with Green air filter, High flow cat and SLP cat back on the dyno today it pulled in at 159.6 HP and 168.31 TQ in 3rd gear.

My friend that worked there told me that my TQ numbers were low because of it being an automatic they could not get the complete run in 3rd and by the time it shifted out of 2nd the TQ curve was already going down.

I dont know why all you guys are buying intake kits when i just have a drop in Green and got the same HP pontiac mag. did with a intake kit.

Just figured i would let you guys now the news.

But where was the curve?? I think the theory behind intake is that it gives you a boost in top end, but takes a little away from the low end. Or it's the liquor talkin :D

Theres hundreds of facters that could have made you gain the same with a drop in filter over another car with a intake. Unless you were to run the car stock, then run it with the drop in filter, then with the intake your not going ot know 100% what is better.

What kind of dyno was this?

what do you mean you got the gain with just the drop in? you also have exhaust work..

have you dynoed with the drop in and with an OEM filter; no other changes?

Can you post your dyno at all? At what values did you hit yoru peak hp and torque? I can show you my old dyno of 2.5" exhaust with a CAI and I can tell you ive actually moved my peak values. Stock you should be maxing hp at around 4800 rpms, and im hitting it at 5000 rpms. Also, what does your torque curve look like? I actually lost torque but I made it much more flat, id be interested to see how yours is without the CAI.

I ran it on a Mustang dyno i heared they dont give you as good as numbers as a Dyno Jet Dyno

I will try to get the sheet on, its kind of gay it has a line for RPM not numbers at the bottom. i will have to gun it on a DynoJet some time. im still 30,TQ off what pont. mag did WTF

Im not saying CAI dont work im just not spending the money.
Id rather save for a PCM or MAF im my opinion.

No, dyno jets are give bloated and unrealistic numbers, but mastang dynos give more real world numbers. Mustang>dyno jet

CAI isn't that expensive you can do it yourself cheap, and from what I've heard a new MAF isn't really necessary on these cars cause you aren't moving enough flow through it to make a difference. Just a thought.

/\ get a KN filter, stick it on the maf sensor, and make a heat shield if ya want to for a dirt cheep wai.

Id trust a Dynojet Dyno over most considering most companies use a dynojet and thus, the results to other cars will be more accurate. Id also say a dyno jet makes a hell of a lot more sense than that graph.

I know that graph is the worst ever
but hell for 40 bucks you cant beat it
