Anybody have a ported throttle body? Just thinking about the next mod. That and a 180% thermostat. Not quite ready for a DHP chip. Rather stay with 87 octane gas.

... I have one and I believe it was worth it; although, mine was made by a friend of mine ... it is actually and easy job to port a TB provided you have access to a milling machine and most import, a 61/62mm plate :)

/\how much would it cost to have it done? I have a spare in my garage.

it's pretty simple to grind away at your TB - the thing is, if you don't increase the bore of the TB where the butterfly plate is, you haven't gained anything. the other thing is, if you do that, you'll need to have a new butterfly plate machined, and in that case, you'd better have your tolerances down low, (i.e. going at it with a dremel isn't such a great idea) at least where the plate goes, or you'll have one constant vacuum leak.

... I would never suggest doing a TB boring with a Dremel ... also, I wouldn't bother trying to machine a plate but instead, find an existing plate and machine the TB housing to suit ... for example, a 5.0L Mustang uses a stock plate that is 'slightly' larger than 61mm so you could have the housing machined to suit ... the main reason you don't really want to machine the plate is that you want it to maintain the correct angle on the edge (if you notice, it isn't perpendicular to the face but instead it tapers for better closing) ... anyway, unless you have a milling machine or like me, knew someone who did it for me, I wouldn't bother trying to do it yourself and simply purchase one from RSM or similar :)
