Stiff Throttle - Corsica

Hi All.....I recently purchased a 2nd car...'93 Corsica 3.1 and the gas pedal is guite stiff. I checked the throttle cable and it's not causing the problem so I'm assuming it's the actuall throttle body. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can free things up.

Must be a design flaw. My 88 2.8L was super-stiff too... throughout the entire life of the car, including when my mom purchased it new.
