So i got some service done at the dealership a couple days ago and they checked over the car and said that one of the things they would reccommend would be a fuel induction system service. is this normal? if so, what would need to be done? I just am not sure if its something that really needs to be done or not.

They are talking about an Injector cleaning. Essentially they disable the fuel pump by pulling the fuse and connect a can of injector cleaner to the service port of the fuel rail and run the engine until it dies. This cleans the pintles and screens of the fuel injectors. They should also change the fuel filter at the same time.
Depending on how many miles you have on the car and the type of driving you do, Highway vs city, It may or may not be time to do it.
If your car still has good acceleration and a smooth idle it should not be necessary yet. But if it seems sluggish and the idle seems a little rough, then it may be time to do it.
