Posted this in the old guys forum a few days ago....no response so here it is again.
Okay, so I replaced the wheel bearing on my 99 grand am a year ago. ( almost to the day ) Now they are bad again. Lifetime warranty, sure, but I have to pay labor again. When I asked them why this happened, they just shrugged. Could there be any explanation other than a faulty part? ( meaning, could something else be causing them to go? )
At least I didnt have to pay 300 dollars for the parts again.

I stopped at Tire Warehouuse for new shoes for Granny, and I got som BF Goodrich,Control ,a set and unlike other tire stores where they change them and send you on your way. the mechanic showed me the passenger front wheel and all this sloppy play! annd one more hour wait and $ 179 to fix. With tires $545.I do;nt know if they loossened it to rig a sale,or even changed the part ,but the ride is improved alot.I don;t think this chain would screw you,I;m thankful it;s repaired and not lying in a ditch!Oh, I also asked him if the other bearing was ok,He said it was fine.I also got a nice road warranty on the tires. Now to save for those winter ones!

Actually I was told when one goes bad, the other is soon to follow......and that was the case both times with mine.
I had just bought a brand new set of tires when they did the wheel bearings the first time. The tires were worn very unevenly and almost bald in spots......they blamed it on the bad wheel bearings ( the ones THEY put in ) To make up for it, they gave me a set of tires for 35 apiece....( an all inclusive price no extra fees ) and a decent set of tires at that. 60k warranty. Still, I hope the bearings hold up this time.
