Something isn't right, stutter and intermettent SES

Okay, somthing is going wrong.

I haven't got the codes read yet because I can only get that done at the dealer here. I haven't found anyone that can do it otherwise, not even Autozone.

When I first start the car in the morning and try to leave the engine stutters. You step on the gas and pretty much nothing happens, it just keeps idling. Doesn't act like it is going to die or nothing. Just doesn't throttle up like you expect. It will do this for a few seconds or not even at all. Yesterday it did it for about seven seconds then went to normal. It normally just does it in the morning or after the car has been driven and then sat for a couple of hours.

It does have an intermettent SES light. Came on last night for about 30 seconds while driving down the highway. Has done this off and on for about 2 weeks now.

I have a theroy but not sure if it is correct, hence theroy.
Would the TPS sensor be going out. Like maybe the computer isn't getting the signal that the throttle is moving and it doesn't give it gas?

Anyone had a similar problem?
It is a 3.1 V6 with 128000 miles on it. Automatic also.

have you kept up with all the regular stuff - plugs, wires, fuel filter, pcv valve, etc? keeping your injectors clean?

the SES might be the egr needing to be cleaned, but it wouldn't cause any idling problems..

ya its hard to jump to conclusions on that one .. and it would be the egr since the engine would bassically run the same. As for that sensor.. i would guess the same.. but as for getting your computer read.. i had to go to special shop to get it red... so just phone around .. im sure its cheaper than a dealer

I have this same problem. I had the code read but all the tech would tell me is it's an evap. code. Eventually your SES light will stay on. I'm yet to really have this problem explored. Good luck, let me know how you make out.

you can't be pissen in the wind, you need that light checked
out to see whats going on,or you;ll just be going in circles.

why can't Autozone check your light???
