I finished my LIM instal. Everything went well. However, My fuel line is leaking. I connected the fuel pump fuse and turn the ignition on to check for leaks before I put everything back together but I guess that didnt have enough pressure to make it leak. So now when I start it, its got a steady stream of gas spewing out. Is there any way I can tighten this thing with out removing all the crap I just spent all day installing? :???:

It took forever to get the car started after I finished. And I had to let it idol for about 10 minutes before it would idle on its own w/ out stalling. It runs rough and sounds like its misfirring (already verified my plug wire locations) so I think I am gonna replace the plugs and wires. Or maybe there isnt enough fuel getting to the injectors due to the leak? I dunno. More trouble shooting to follow.

when we did this on my brothers car he had a gas leak and we took the UIM off and replaced the o rings again and all was well. i think you are going to have to take it back off. also ours ran rough but we forgot to plug up the PCV valve, once we did that it was perfectly fine. by the way it was very depressing when we started up the car and it was sputtering and running very badly. then i put my finger over the pcv hole and it was like a miracle. but yea... i would check all your o rings and tighten 'em up.

Damn. I figured as much. Are there actually O-rings that need replacing in the fuel rails or do I just not have it tight enough? Any way to test them before I put it all back together? Also, did you have to remove your engine mount to get the p/s pump out?

Thanks alot

The inlet line (rear one, which is prolly leaking) has a o-ring. And you must take the plenum off to remove the line.

And yes, you must remove the mount to taket he ps pump out. Why do need to take the ps pump out?

Is this a rubber o-ring that should be replaced? Could I have pinched it or something? Or is it just likely loose?

Well maybe I dont. It just looked like I needed to. Can it be removed w/out taking out the p/s pump?

Thanks

Yes, you should replce the oring if its damaged, if it's not, just reuse it. And yes, you may have pinched it and damaged it. You should go and buy a new one, just in case.

You don't need to remove the ps pump when dealing the the fuel system. And trust me, you don't want to deal with that thing. Unless you are doing a LIM gasket repair, don't touch it.

Oh wow. I didnt realize there was a rubber O-ring. It must be stuck in the rail cause there wasnt one on the end of the fuel line when I removed it. I saw the notch for it but assumed it was built into the fuel rail or something. I'll get a new one. Thats prolly why the car accelerates so slow now. No gas is gettin in there.

Dude, thats the best news I've heard. I just did my LIM so I dreaded taking off the serpantine and p/s pump the most.

Thanks alot!:glasses:

so just to wrap this up, The o-ring was shredded and stuck in the rail. I dug it out with a pick. I had to buy a pack of o-rings from autozone for like $8. They were brown in case anyone else needs to buy em. The box said they were for gasoline applications. And that fixed my leak. Thanks again everyone.
