After months and months of thinking and talking about getting an exhaust, I finally ordered it today. I can't wait for it to come so I can put it on. On average how long does it take for a part to come from pfyc.com it said the item was in stock, so hopefully it shouldnt take long but I was wondering if anyone could give me a decent guesstamate.:bananna: :bananna: :bananna: :bananna:

Same here, only about 3-4 days. However mine is still sitting pretty in the box while I work out other technical problems with the car.
(not to hijack the thread, but...) For you guys that installed it yourselves, did you jack up the front, the back, or the entire car to do the install? Just looking for tips to make my life easier.

As for delivery, mine took 7 days to get to Eugene, oregon, had to go get it at the UPS site. As for installation, I used a set of ramps on the rear wheels, then hacksawed the stock exhaust before and after the rear suspension. Hardest part was fitting my slightly out of shape belly underneath the fore part of the car to hook the cat to the SLP piping. I would advise clamps till you decide whether you like the sound or not, the SLP muffler is kind of raspy. I used a Flowmaster 80 series and the sound was much smoother and quieter even, no loss of power either. Omce you have decided on a muffler, get it welded up. Just my .02 cents. mopowr79

I just installed my SLP as well. I put the rear of the car on ramps, and then put the front on jack stands. It makes getting at the flange up front much easier. I put a box end wrench on the flange bolts and every one busted the head right off. A few good cracks with a hammer and the flange was out. I rented an exhaust cutter (chain with small discs on it) and cut the stock crap before and after the rear suspension. SLP is great, I prefer it over the flowmaster. I liked the dynomax I had that I just removed, but the SLP is the best solution.

the exhaust came today and it will be going on on sunday. Is it just me or is there no resinator on the slp?

^nope, no resonator. I think I might add one to my system depending on how loud it is. Mine's going on Saturday!

Can we sell tickets? Split the profit 50-50...lol....but anyway...isnt the idea of upgrading to get better flow and wont the resinator restrict flow since it is like a small version of the muffler and doesnt allow for straight thru air flow..I think thats what i meant.

...right, I'll keep that in mind...:roll2:
If you use a straight throw muffler like a cherry bomb then there is virtually no restriction if any. And if I don't like the sound of the SLP system, I'm going to do something to make my $450 sound good. ;)

you will like it, atleast from inside the car, which is where you're going to hear it 98% of the time. It only gets raspy when you rev it up a lot, but I don't think its very raspy under load. I'm gonna video my car while a friend drives it, or visversa and see how it sounds :)

installed my SLP today, and it sounds great and looks great... it took a little under 4 hours to do the entire job but it was worht every penny and minute spent...if anything I wish it was a little louder... an if Borla is milder then i dont think i would have liked it...definitly aa must mod for any GA.

told ya :) It will actually get louder after you heat cycle it a few times (go for a 30 minute drive, then allow to cool for 2-3 hours)

Mine took about 4 hours also. Had a b*tch of a time getting the over axle pipe over the axle. I'd have to disagree about the sound though. IMO it's a little too loud; it sounds like it's trying to be a V8...not very cool. But each to thier own.

someone should make a how to on how to get that stupid pipe over the axle...Im not quite qualified for that as we cheated and heated the crap out of it and bent it then bent it back...a how to will def make future abitious installers feel a little better about their plite, in showing them it is a normal problem.

I didn't have a bit of trouble getting the rear pipe hooked up. Slipped right in where it was supposed to. Took me about an hour, most of which was getting the bolts loose at the cat. Best advice is to put the car on ramps to so the install. If I ever get around to it, I can write up a how to on this. mopowr79
