Here is how i managed to vinyl dye my dash while it was still inside the car. Remember with this, take your time and be patient with it. Its not really that hard, just be careful.

Tools Needed:

2 cans of vinyl dye (can pick it up any auto parts store)
Plastic bowl or cup to spray dye into
A couple of sponge pads/brushes
400 grit sandpaper
Rubbing alcohol
Something to tape interior off with

1) Take out all of the surrounding interior pieces that are attached to the dash. This would be the dash bezel, the vents/rings, the glove compartment (makes it easier), the a-pillars (to get the in-between spot), the windshield defroster vent, and any other piece that might be in the way. I left my a-pillars in, but i was replacing those anyway so it didn't matter if they got covered in dye. You could also just tape off the inner side of the pillar to avoid having to remove them.

2) Take 400 grit sandpaper and sand over the whole dash. This will allow for the dye to set in a lot better. I had problems with the dye setting on an unsanded surface. Once you are done sanding, wipe down rubbing alcohol to get a nice, clean surface.

3) Take a bowl or cup, and spray small amounts of the dye into the bowl. Then use the pad/brush and brush the dye onto to the dash. It may take a couple of coats to get the dye to set in nicely.

4) Once you have covered the whole dash, tape off the bottom part of your windshield and around where the dash bezel would be. Take the vinyl dye can, and CAREFULLY make one or two easy passes on the dash. This will help get rid of the streakiness caused by the brush method. If your dash didn't come out very streaky, this last step may not be necessary.

5) Once the vinyl dye has dried and your happy with your new look, re-assemble all the interior pieces.

6) When back together, crack open drink of choice and drool over your amazing new look!

So far I have not had any troubles with fading or anything such as that. Sun glare hasn't really been that much trouble either. Overall, I am very happy with the way mine turned out and I saved the trouble of ripping everything apart to get the dash out. Saved many many hours of extra labor.

If you have any additional questions on this, feel free to pm me.
