Ok, so the 94 won't work, but I just located a 97 SE w/ a blown 3.1 V6, do the years matter too much? Would the V6 from the 94 be a straight replacement? I know I'd have to take some things from the engine thats in the car and put it on the 94's engine. Thanks!!

Matt

Edit: Realized the question wsa extremly vague, added detail.

from what ive read they are the same engine mounts to 98 and that should match up.. but as long as you got the same ecm.. because im sure the valvetrain is different and i do know that in 95 the MAF sensor was being used.. other than that it should be a pretty simple swap.. maybe the odd part might have to be swapped..

but also is it comming from a grand am or a different car .. since i know on some models the upper engine mounts are different.. but if its a GA im sure your ok

It is from a Grand Am. I need to see if I can still get the body, and I may have to do this.

Thanks!

If anyone else has more info, or "gotchas" let me know.

It might be more trouble than it's really worth changing to a V6. Locate another 2.3 or a 2.4, or even a Ecotech.

You can swap in a OBD2 harness for the ecotech and mod it, and you're set to go.

But, if you really want to swap in a V6, you muve the harness, ECU, Transmission, mounts. Sounds like a lot of work to me.

It would have been a V6 to V6 swap. The body has a V6 in it, but a blown engine.

This has to be passed on though, the body went for a bit more than I could do.

Thanks all for the help!
