ok this might sound odd... and i wasn't sure what section it is suppose to be in.

i hate how "soft" my air conditioner blows. i have a brand new blower motor and i am just not happy with it. is there a way i could get more performance out of it? or is there a blower motor that you know will fit but blow harder? is there a different blower wheel i could install (is that is what they are called)?

on to other things...

my a/c has never been cold enough to my liking. my cousin had a 90 GA and his AC was so cold that it would be foggy when it came out of the vents. i don't know if that is because of R12 or what... but i am wanting something like that but blowing really hard...

i am sorry if i sound like an idiot in my post but i am desperate for cold air! and i live in texas and it is hot and i have a black car and i am a big baby...

thanks!

r12 freon does work better but it's kinda illegal now

my dad is a refrigeration tech and has an r12 stockpile he puts in our families cars and it is colder just don't ever have a shop look at your a/c if you run r12

fans don't make much differencee and the compressors are not swappable at all

top off your r134 freon and park in shady spots

Tread carefully, but my dad had that concern also about the power of the blower. He kept the blower and lowered the resistance in the switch so it sent a stronger signal to the blower. That was in a 90 though, the new cars seem to work differently. I know the vent controls are vacum, but I think the blower is still resister ran. Find that resister and remove it.

As for the air output, cars of those years were not as cold as the older ones or the newer ones. It seems as if they were working out the problems with switching refrigerant. Maybe someone can come up with a way to increase the cycle time on the compresser.

hmm... so for the blower motor remove the resistor, as for coldness... im screwed? do those freon booster type things work? i see them at autozone but i am not sure if they will actually do anything. i guess i will be replacing the accumulator just for the hell of it, they are kind of cheap anyway. and i will see what happens... thanks for the info

I think when you have the fan speed on high, there is no resistor. At least that's how it is on the newer cars. That's why the fans only work on high when the resistor card burns up.

If your system isn't cold enough at the lower speeds, it won't feel any colder at a higher fan speed. My '02 usually blows around 50* out the vents.

Being in Texas, there has to be plenty of people who know A/C.

well here is the thing... i never have my ac on low!!! it is always set on high. and i would like to increase the volume of air flowing through the vents. anyways... i won't be bother with it any time soon. i am getting ready for the engine swap.

oh yea? did it yourself? i've done it before with a rented vacuum pump from AZ and it didn't work out to be that cold. did you replace the dryer?

no just threw a couple of cans of 134 in, the car always had great air.
