how can i upgrade my ignition on my 2.4

Im pissed yesterday i raced a nissan nx, he wooped my ass just by turning that little bolt and advancing his timing, i was wondering how i could upgrade my ignition on my 2.4 liter, i always see that msd ignition box in all the j-bodys i m curiouse as to which set up its and how would i hook it up any feedback is greatly appreciated.

An MSD ignition won't do a whole lot for your car unless you're boosted.
What do you have done to the car right now?

nuthin yet i thought ignition would be an easy starting point

start with intake, exhaust, header, throttle body, and intake manifold. our cars get plenty good spark. You should concentrate on freeing up some airflow in and out of the engine.

im just tryin to plan what im doin b4 i do it, this bein said u think i should get the header first or the 2 1/4 exhaust?

first things first, buy an intake. put it on yourself and get a feel for doing engine work. After that buy a header and the other exhuast parts and hold on to them, once you get everything have a shop put it on all together (this way it will most likley save you money) after that, maybe go with a bigger TB or even the HO manifold swap (check out my www and look at the pictures of my car to see the HO manifold on my car) after that you should know alittle more and you can take whatever path you want from there.

I agree with "urweak" , get the intake and then do the whole exhaust, then throttle body, and then start saving up for bigger and better upgrades.
