sooo...when it rains like a lot my red security light comes on. Like 3-4 months ago it came on and then later my car wouldn'y start, it thought i was trying to steal it or something and so it shut off the fuel pump i think is how it works. anyway i got that fixed susposidly, $300, anyway well if happened yesterday again. so i am pissed on why it happened again when it should of been fixed, So my car is sitting at my friends house and i am going to try it later see if it dried out or anything. Does anyone know a way around this security thing so i can start my freaking car??

Look in your owners manual. There is a procedure for passlock reset. What you do is turn the key to the RUN position. The security light will be on. Wait like ten minutes and the light goes out. Turn the key to OFF, then start the car. All should be fine. Happened to me last Sunday. I have always thought it had to do with the temperature as it is getting very warm and summerlike here in Wisconsin. Maybe moisture effects it too. Who the heck knows why we have some of the gremlins found in Pontiacs? BTW, if that does not work then time for ignition repair. (which it sounds like you may have already paid for)

I usually leave my key in the "ACC" position. That does it too. The light stops blinking after ten minutes, you can then try to start the engine. I have to keep the revs up around 2000 for about ten seconds, it sounds like it's about to stall at normal idle speed.

guys it happends to me too but what i do is like u guys said wait 10 min with key on acc and it will go off, or u can leave the key off the car and it will go off , if it dont work check ur batt it might be dead thats what happends to mine, i went to the dealer last week about it and the repair dude told me it could be ur radio,if u have an aftermarket radio all the currents r runin in the radio. what i do if my car does not turn on i wait and do or clean something for 10 min its a pain that it only happends to ga
