I dont know about any where else but down here in texas if its below 20 you dont wash it because all the water is frozen and they shut down all the car washes.but up north yall might have something i dont know about to keep that from happening.

Well, I know that they closed down all of the self washers up here so I don't have that option.. That is one aspect that I miss from TX. It doesn't get that cold down there.. My parents are loving it right now..lol Well I wonder if those other carwashes, the ones that charge you like 15 dollars, are still open? They are the only way..

I would never use a gas stations car wash...I've heard of too many incidents with some of them. I go to mikes car wash self serve when its warm enough the automatic one when its just too cold for me to be sprayed with freezing mist from cleaning it.

we wait for warm days then take it into the Markquart Lube & Wash....but next time they both go for full detailing at Ship Shape. When it's WARMER!!!! lol

Hey, thanks for the hints and links. I wish they had the hot water car washes here. That would be so cool. Maybe I will look into starting a business doing that. That might make a few extra bucks during the winter.

... it is not so much that the wash process with hurt the car; although, the water COULD force the salt and other corrosive components further into the joints where it may increase rust formation ... but, it is a simple inconvenience of door handles, locks and windows freezing after washing in the COLD weather so to be honest, this particular trouble isn't affected by the temperature of the water you use to wash with :)
