View Full Version : What model year? Please Vote!

I don't think we ever posted this as a poll... Since 2005 is the last model year for the Grand Am, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a poll to see what it is that everyone is driving. I'm making the poll multile-choice for those that own more than one. Feel free to discuss this poll in this thread.

EDIT: You may count previously-owned Grand Ams as well.

That truely is depresing. The last 6 years has more votes that the first 26. Double the votes actually. I understand that the RWD site has their own board, but common guys, there have to be some 80's model GAs in here.

lol, that car has to be a 92-95, it have the 92-95 tail lights and head lights, and bumpers. so most likly its a 95 since it has those hub caps, or they just took them off a newer GA and put them on.

Wish I could afford one of those new-fangled GAs. All I can afford is a 1978 Grand Am. I have owned the car since 1985. It is my daily driver. Started with a 301 V8, put 303,000 miles on it and then pulled it out and replaced it with a 400. Got the 400 out of a 1976 Pontiac Safari wagon, bored it .030, got a engine kit from Summit, including a big cam and put it in. Boy do I surprise a lot of people. They look at that old car, not expecting much and then they see the rear end of the Pontiac going away from them. Fast.

I have also rebuilt the entire front end, from the control arm bushings out, to include a high ratio steering box that I just put in. It drives like a new car. The interior is next...

I have to agree but I also have to add to it. Anyone remember a little movie called Leathal Weapon 4??? The Grand Am was the star of the show and I can tell you that it motivated me to get one (not necessarily to crash it through buildings...). It is damn sexy and still is to this day.

97 here, and I love my style as I love all styles of GA, I don't find the 96-98 are bad styling at all, merely GM new they had it good with the 92 to 95 style, and they wanted to keep that with some miner adjestments to freshen it up. Hey on the dodge cirus, aren't those tempest or corsica hubcap's???? I'm pretty positve they are.

I'm just wondering (sorry if this has already been coverd somewhere else), but why is there such a drop in the 1998 year, then such a rise in the 1999. Is it just because everyone held out to get the new generation or what... i'm just asking because my step-dad recently bought a 1998 GA SE 2 door 2.4L, for $1800 CAD... im thinking it's a good deal, despite a bit of rust. Is there something i should be worried about?? Thanks
